Introduction
The Division Forest Office was established in 1977 (2034 B.S.) to oversee forest conservation and management activities in Tanahun and Gorkha districts. In 1983 (2040 B.S.), the government decided to establish District Forest Offices in each district. Accordingly, the District Forest Office, Gorkha, was established and has been operating since then.
According to the new organizational structure introduced in 1993 (2050 B.S.), the district was categorized as a "Gh" (घ) level office, consisting of one Area Forest Office and eight Range Posts. With the implementation of federalism and the new organizational structure in 2017 (2074 B.S.), the office was reorganized into one Division Forest Office and six Sub-Division Forest Offices.
